Who Says There’s No Hockey? [VIDEO]
It was confirmed today that the NHL delivered a new proposal to the NHLPA via email on Thursday afternoon.
“In light of media reports this morning, I can confirm that we delivered to the union a new, comprehensive proposal for a successor CBA late yesterday afternoon. We are hopeful that once the union’s staff and negotiating committee have had an opportunity to thoroughly review and consider our new proposal, they will share it with the players. We want to be back on the ice as soon as possible.” — NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly
It is reported that the NHL would like to have an agreement in place by January 11, which would lead to a 48-game regular season beginning on January 19.
With the lockout in its 104th day, will fans soon have hockey back again? Or is that even the right question to ask?
Look around, you will find hockey. Kids of all ages are still turning up on neighborhood rinks and enjoying games of road hockey. Their season hasn’t been delayed nor cancelled.
