Video: Deer Takes Down Skateboarder
We’ve all seen deer crossing signs as we motor on major and secondary highways. In Alberta more extensive measures than signing have been undertaken. As the Trans-Canada highway carves its way through Banff National Park, the federal government built wildlife overpasses (and underpasses) to reduce the collisions by motorists with deer, elk, bears and other animals.
But no such measures were in place in Golden, Colorado where a recent collision occurred involving a deer and a skateboarder.
The crash was all caught on video by a skateboarder with a helmet cam. The Buffalo Bill Downhill covers 1.77 kilometres at a top speed of 65 km/h featuring seven turns and four hairpins. The skateboarder from Salt Lake City was not seriously hurt in the accident.
