Subban Explains Triple-Low-Five [VIDEO]
Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien is the new mayor in town and he’s making some changes, including cancelling fun. Therrien has decided to put the kibosh on the celebration after home wins by P.K. Subban and Carey Price. The “triple-low-five” will be replaced by an insincere, generic and scripted raising of the sticks by the full team at centre ice. “The fans deserve it,” said Therrien.
But what was the genesis of the celebration? And what does it mean? Subban provides the answer in response to a fan question.
“I try to have a good relationship with my goaltender. That way it’s personal to him when he has to bail me out and it’s personal for me when I have to block a shot for him. I think with that relationship we’ll be able to play harder for each other.”
