NEDELJKOVIC NAMED DOUBLE BLUE GOALIE OF THE MONTH |
CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations today announced Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers as the Double Blue Sports draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for February. Nedeljkovic was outstanding last month, sporting a 7-2-0-2 record with an incredible 2.06 goals against average and .949 save percentage in 11 games for the Whalers. In eight of his starts, the Parma, OH native allowed two or fewer goals. “Nedelkjovic has had a really strong month this February and was instrumental in helping his Whalers team to their first winning month of the 2013-14 season,” Future Considerations scouting director Dan Stewart said. “He makes the saves he should to keep his team in almost every game and is as steady a tender there is available. That coupled with his positioning, impressive quickness, ability to scramble and make second and third saves and his overall composure make him a top goaltending prospect for 2014.” The 18-year-old is 23-26-0-7 this season with a 2.96 goals against average and .924 save percentage. He’s ranked fourth among Future Considerations’ goaltenders and 58th overall for the upcoming 2014 NHL Draft. Also considered for the award was Alex Bureau of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Bureau posted a 4-3-0 record with a 3.06 goals against average and .902 save percentage in seven appearances in January. For the first time, any goalie from peewee to pro will have their own video analytic system and performance library at their disposal in Double Blue Sports.
