EKBLAD NAMED FHM DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH

CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations Hockey today announced Aaron Ekblad of the Barrie Colts as the Franchise Hockey Manager draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for March.
In seven games to close out the regular season, Ekblad recorded two goals and five assists. The 6-foot-4, 217-pound blueliner added another goal and two assists in four games, helping Barrie to a five-game series win over the Sudbury Wolves in the opening round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs.
Ekblad is Future Considerations’ top-ranked prospect for the 2014 NHL Draft.
Also considered for the award was Roland McKeown of the Kingston Frontenacs. McKeown, ranked 25th, had four points in six regular season games before adding a goal and three assists in Kingston’s seven-game series loss against the Peterborough Petes.
