Philadelphia Flyers Host NHL Draft Fan Fest

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The 2014 NHL Entry Draft is just over a week away, and with the Stanley Cup having already been awarded this year, hockey fans around the world are eagerly waiting to get the next season underway with the selection of new prospects!
This year the city of Philadelphia plays host to the draft, as hockey management, scouts, players, and fans make their way to the Wells Fargo Center. It won’t be the first time this year that Philly has seen national hockey attention, as the 2014 NCAA Frozen Four Men’s Hockey Tournament was also held here earlier this spring. (Read more about it here: Prospects Report: Tournament Showcases Young Hockey Talent)
But whether or not you’re one of the lucky folks who have procured a ticket to the draft, there are still plenty of reasons to flock to Philly next weekend! In addition to the draft activities happening inside the Wells Fargo Center, the Philadelphia Flyers will be hosting a free Fan Fest outside the arena at the Xfinity Live Sports Entertainment Complex!
The Fan Fest will highlight hockey-themed family-friendly activities (all free of charge!) including a full-size street hockey rink, skills challenges, and inflatable features like obstacle courses, bungee runs, a giant slide and a slap shot booth. A large arcade will also be available, with chances to win prizes, as well as the Marvel Universe Live “Are You Super Hero Enough?” interactive challenge!
In addition to the activities, there will be plenty of organizations on hand with free giveaways, an Alex’s Lemonade Stand giving away lemonade and collecting donations, and of course plenty of bars and restaurants to grab some tasty food and drinks while you watch the draft unfold live on the big screens.
