How Do You Describe Canada? [VIDEO]

It’s said that Canadians are reserved patriots.  Oh sure, there are times when we can’t contain national pride like during the Olympics or any international hockey championship.

But how does one describe Canada?  Well there was Joe who told the beer-drinking world how Canadians were different than Americans in a Molson commercial called “I Am Canadian” in the early 2000’s.  Do you remember Joe’s (polite) rant?

Hey.

I’m not a lumberjack, or a fur trader, and I don’t live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dog sled, and I don’t know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada, although I’m certain they’re really, really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a President. I speak English and French, not American, and I pronounce it about, not aboot.

I can proudly sew my country’s flag on my backpack. I believe in peacekeeping, not policing. Diversity, not assimilation. And that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.

A touque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced zed, not zee, zed!

Canada is the second largest land mass. The first nation of hockey. And the best part of North America!

My name is Joe, and I am Canadian!

But more recently the Canadian Tourism Commission asked ordinary Canadians to capture their country in photos and video.  From 7,000 submissions and 65 hours of video they put together a two-minute montage called “Canada, Explored by Canadians.”

From their website 35milliondirectors.com :

“After receiving thousands of outstanding submissions, we have selected our winners and assembled a short video, set to an incredible track from Yukon Blonde, that combines inspiring clips from across Canada. Over the next few months, the final cut of this video will be aired internationally, supporting the Canadian Tourism Commission in its mission to promote Canada to the world. Congratulations to all of our winners and everyone who contributed!”

So for all of the proud Canadians and those around the world wishing to visit, explore Canada in the following video.
