Fuel Heist Gone Wrong [VIDEO]
BRISBANE — So when you think that the only crazy part about gas is the price, we have a fuel heist video that will make your day.
Surveillance video at a Caltex station in Mount Warren Park near Brisbane, Australia, last week shows a pregnant woman thrown in the air and gas gushing from a broken pump after a bungled escape.
The driver took advantage of the distraction of the gas station staff to use the accomplice, who was pregnant, to steal the fuel. But while the woman put gas in the vehicle, the driver got startled when he noticed the approach of the gas station attendant and drove off while the hose was still attached to the vehicle.
The hose upended the woman, flinging her high into the air and several meters to her left. She landed hard on the ground before dashing into the car, which quickly drove away.
Queensland Police said they were trying to trace the woman and the driver of the car saying, “Investigations are continuing and there’s no charges.”
According to the Logan District Inspector Darren Harland, gas thefts are a huge problem in the region, with stolen license plates attached to some cars involved.
“It does cost us a hell of a lot of money,” said the owner of the Caltex petrol station, Shane Jacobson.
